Supreme intelligent designer

Sriraj works as Quality Manager in MNC. He goes to Thailand to spend Summer Vacation. Thailand is full of natural as well as architectural beauty. He visits various places, for him it was unforgettable experience. Soon vacation comes to an end. Sriraj’s mind dragged him towards his work. Last day was tough for him, his mind was shifting from one thought to another.  For 15 days he stayed in a lap of nature and now he had to go to concrete jungle. On one side he was ready but on another he wasn’t. Finally he made up his mind to board the flight back to India.

While travelling back, in a flight he started thinking of recently purchased bungalow in suburb of Mumbai for whooping 5 Crores. Bungalow faced towards Arabian Sea. It had small garden in front.

Sriraj became thoughtful from his recent experiences. To purchase bungalow made by mere mortal he had to spend so much and Mysterious nature unveiling its beauty freely. Who had made this nature so beautiful? Does nature acting on its own? Is there any Creator behind it?

Being Science student, education system makes one to ask question.  But not every time we get satisfactory answer. Creation is one such mystery.

So let’s discuss about it analytically.

 As we observe nature around us, when we see any beautiful painting we ask for painter. So any artistry necessarily points towards Artist.

ISRO successfully launched ‘Kalamsat’ a world’s lightest and smallest satellite on 25th January 2019. To launch it successfully it takes great organisational efforts. So any Beautiful organisation points toward one or many Organiser.

We created Skyscraper buildings, wonderful sculptures, elegant watches, sleek cars, trendy cars. For creating all this, we definitely need Creator.

We have wonderful designer clothes for which different Designer.

Similarly energy implies Energetic.

Laws are made by government. Flawless laws imply Lawmaker or body of Lawmaker.

So when we think strongly enough and with sound logic we see wonderful phenomena happening in Nature we come to a scientific conclusion that there must be a Supreme intelligent designer behind all this.

Ground Breaking Ceremony, ISKCON VECC (ISKCON Aurangabad)

On January, 16th Radhanath Swami presided over the ground breaking ceremony of the ISKCON Vedic Education and Culture Centre in Aurangabad,  India. The center will serve to revive and preserve the spiritual culture and values of the Deccan region of  Southern Central India through education and the establishment of a temple. Thousands of guest and well—wishers attended the event.
At a press conference before the ceremony Radhanath Swami addressed journalists from local newspapers. “It was the desire of my guru A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada that we build temples for the spiritual progress of society. Traditionally, temples have been centers for disseminating education in society and means to transform their lives by providing positive values; selfishness is changed to selflessness, greed to generosity, arrogance to humility and envy to love amongst others. Thus, a living entity comes closer to its real nature and can connect to the divine Supersoul.”
A journalist asked, “What aspect of religion are you trying to present with your temples?” Radhanath swami replied, “We are trying to present that developing love for Krishna is the essence of all religions. It is by offering selfless, unalloyed devotional service to God that you can experience love in life. I studied all religions like Judaism, Christianity, Jainism, Buddhism etc and I undertand that God is one and there are many representatives of him; one Prime Minister and many ministers. That one is the cause of all causes, sarva karan karanam. Thus, Krishna consciousness is all comprehensive and answers and explains all the conceptions of God across all faiths.”
At the ceremony Radhanath Swami addressed the crowd. “A temple is like a hospital that cures us from the diseases of the material world and elevates us to a refined spiritual life. Some of us can sit under a tree alone and practice spirituality, but for the general masses we need such centers where people can inspire each other in tradition and culture by their behavior and character.” He expressed special gratitude to Rohini Priya Das who has been serving in Aurangabad for the last 16 years and has been most instrumental in the development of the Centre. He ended by saying, “We will meet for Deity installation in the temple though our aim is to establish Lord in our hearts.”

Does God laugh at our plans?

This quote provocatively restates a universal truth, enshrined in sayings such as “Man proposes, God disposes.” We all have dreams and we make plans accordingly. We envision our life going along a smooth line leading to destination happiness, with happiness being equated with the fulfillment of our dreams. However, life rarely goes the way we plan – factors beyond our control disrupt things. If we ascribe those disruptive factors beyond our control ultimately to the supreme divinity, then we could say that God has disposed the plans we had proposed.

But does God really laugh when we make plans? Is he a sadist who delights in disrupting our plans? Certainly not. The point of God’s laughter is subtle and non-literal. To appreciate that point, we need to understand that our perspective is very limited – so limited in fact that our plans often involve such a huge degree of presumption that it makes those in the knowledge of things laugh indulgently. Suppose a small girl plans to build a sand castle and tells her parents that her dream prince will come on in shining armor on a white horse and live with her in that castle. The parents laugh not sadistically, but indulgently, at the child’s grandiose imagination associated with the sand castle.

Similarly, when we make our plans in this temporary material world where everything is swept away by the tides of time, even our best-laid plans can be seen to be not much different from the child’s fantasies about a sand castle. Seeing the grandiosity of our plans, God laughs – not sadistically, but indulgently.

The key illusion that we need to counter is the notion that we are controllers who can make the world bend to our plans. However, countering this illusion doesn’t have to be disempowering, implying that we have no control and are utterly helpless. We are parts of God, and as he is the supreme controller, we as his parts are controllers in our own small right. Just as parts are meant to work in harmony with the whole, we are meant to use our capacity to control in harmony with his plans.

Those devoted to God make plans, but they do so in a mood of service without becoming attached to their plans. Their attachment is to God, not to their plans. If a particular plan of theirs get disrupted, they may be temporarily perplexed not being sure what to do. But they don’t become disheartened, thinking that nothing is worth doing. They soon regain their perspective, focus on their ultimate plan of serving the Lord and find some other practical way of continuing their service to him, thereby moving closer to him.

Gita wisdom explains that we are meant for something much bigger than this world. Just as the child needs to grow up and learn more constructive engagements, we too need to grow up spiritually and learn more constructive engagements. Whereas the child needs to stop building sand castles, we don’t need to stop our endeavors in material life – we need to redirect our consciousness from this world to God and invest our emotions primarily in him. With our consciousness thus invested, we can see the world as an arena for contributing in a mood of service, according to our talents and interests. If our life’s overall plan is to serve our Lord, then that plan makes him smile with joy.

Indeed, the purpose of the Bhagavad-gita was to inspire Arjuna to harmonize his plan with Krishna’s plan (18.73). And in the ensuing battle for establishing dharma, Arjuna did make daily plans for tackling various enemy commanders, and Krishna aided and guided him in executing those plans. Arjuna’s diligence in doing his service – in planning it intelligently and executing it pragmatically – made Krishna smile in satisfaction.

Just as parents already have a home in which the child can live happily with them, God too has a home for us in his personal abode where we can live happily with him. When we grow up spiritually and redirect our life’s endeavors for his pleasure and for our purification, then we can function in this world effectively but without excessive emotional entanglement.

When we live devoted to him, making him our goal, then on leaving our body at the end of our life, we attain his eternal abode. Thus seeing the return of the prodigal child, God laughs in joy.

कलियुग में बुद्धिमान लोग, कृष्ण-नाम के भजन में निरंतर रत रहने वाले अवतार की पूजा संकीर्तन द्वारा करते हैं । यद्यपि वे श्यामवर्ण के नहीं हैं, परन्तु वे स्वयं कृष्ण हैं । – भागवत ११.५.३२

प्रारंभिक लीलाओं में वे स्वर्णिम वर्ण के एक गृहस्थ के रूप में प्रकट होते हैं । उनके प्रत्यंग सुन्दर हैं और चन्दन का लेप लगाये हुए वे तप्तकांचन के समान दिखते हैं । अपनी अंत की लीलाओं में उन्होंने संन्यास स्वीकार किया, एवं वे सौम्य एवं शांत हैं । वे शांति एवं भक्ति के उच्चतम आश्रय हैं क्योंकि वे मायावादी अभक्तों को भी शांत कर देते हैं । – महाभारत (दान-धर्म पर्व, अध्याय १८९)

श्रील प्रभुपाद की पुस्तकें कैसे लिखी गयीं और हमें क्यों उन्हें पढ़ना चाहिए ?

श्रील प्रभुपाद ने कहा, उन्होंने (भगवान कृष्ण ने) मुझे यहाँ आने को कहा परन्तु मैंने कहा कि मैं वहां नहीं जाना चाहता क्योंकि वह एक गन्दा स्थान है । उन्होंने (भगवान कृष्ण ने) कहा की यदि मैं जाऊं तो वे मेरे लिए सुन्दर भवनों का प्रबंध करवा देंगे । मैंने कहा, परन्तु मैं वहां नहीं जाना चाहता । उन्होंने (भगवान कृष्ण ने) कहा, आप केवल जाइये और पुस्तकें लिखिए और मैं आपके लिए सब कुछ सुविधाजनक बना दूंगा ।
श्रील प्रभुपाद यह बताते हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने मुझे इन पुस्तकों को लिखने का आग्रह किया इसलिए मैं यहाँ आया ।

एक बार मुम्बई में श्रील प्रभुपाद ने मुझे उनके कमरे में आकर कुछ आजीवन-सदस्यों को प्रचार करते हुए सुनने का आदेश दिया । मैंने वहां लगभग एक घंटे बैठकर उन्हें सुना । सभी के जाने के उपरांत उन्होंने मुझे डांटते हुए कहा तुम प्रीतिदिन मुझे प्रचार करते हुए सुनने यहाँ क्यों नहीं आते ? तुम मेरे अग्रणी शिष्यों में से एक हो, यदि तुम ही मुझसे यह नहीं सीखोगे की प्रचार कैसे करते हैं, क्या होगा ?
तत्पश्चात उन्होंने संस्कृत में भगवद-गीता से एक श्लोक उद्धरित किया और मुझसे पूछा की क्या मैं उसको अंग्रेजी में बता सकता हूँ, गीता में वह कहाँ है, और उसका अर्थ क्या है । दुर्भाग्यवश मेरे पास कोई उत्तर नहीं था । उन्होंने पूछा, क्या तुम मेरी पुस्तके पढ़ रहे हो ? मैंने अपनी उपेक्षा को स्वीकारा ।
यदि तुम प्रतिदिन मेरी पुस्तकें नहीं पढोगे तो कैसे सीखोगे ? तुम बाहर जाकर आजीवन-सदस्य बना रहे हो, दान एकत्र कर रहे हो परन्तु मेरी पुस्तकें नहीं पढ़ रहे । तुम्हें प्रतिदिन मेरी पुस्तकें पढ़नी चाहिए ।

फिर उन्होंने कहा, मैं भी प्रतिदिन अपनी पुस्तकें पढता हूँ । क्या तुम्हे पता है, क्यों ? मैंने स्वयं उत्तर देने की अपेक्षा उनके उत्तर की प्रतीक्षा की । क्योंकि हर बार मैं इन पुस्तकों को पढता हूँ तो इनसे कुछ सीखने को मिलता है । मैं निस्तब्ध मौन बैठा रहा । फिर उन्होंने पूछा क्या तुम्हें पता है मैं हर बार इन पुस्तकों को पढता हूँ तो क्यों कुछ नया सीखता हूँ ? अब मैं पूर्णतया विस्मित था । क्योंकि मैंने इन पुस्तकों को नहीं लिखा है । आगे जो विदित हुआ वह पूरी तरह से आश्चर्यजनक था । उन्होंने पूर्ण तल्लीनता पूर्वक मेरी आँखों से तीव्र और सीधा संपर्क बनाते हुए मेरी ओर देखा । भावोन्मत्त पूर्ण विश्वस्तता परन्तु रहस्यमयी भाव से वे वर्णन करने लगे कि उनकी पुस्तकें कैसे लिखी जाती हैं ।

उन्होंने कहा, प्रतिदिन जब मैं यहाँ इन पुस्तकों को लिखने बैठता हूँ, अब उनकी दृष्टि ऊपर की ओर और हाथ हवा में हिल रहे थे, उनका कंठ भावावेश में अवरुद्ध हो रहा था, भगवान कृष्ण व्यक्तिगत रूप से आते हैं और हर शब्द वे स्वयं लिखवाते हैं । मुझे इसकी अनुभूति हुयी की भगवान कृष्ण उस समय कमरे में उपस्थित थे परन्तु मैं उन्हें देखने में अक्षम था । अब श्रील प्रभुपाद ने अपनी दृष्टि मेरी ओर की और कहा, इसलिए जब भी मैं इन पुस्तकों को पढता हूँ, मैं भी कुछ सीखता हूँ और इसलिए यदि तुम भी प्रतिदिन मेरी पुस्तकों को पढोगे तो हर बार तुम भी कुछ सीखोगे ।

It is never too late

It is never too late to be what you might have been – George Eliot

Sometimes we feel that life has passed us by, that it is now too late to do many of the things we wanted to achieve in our life. Such thoughts demoralize us and prevent us from taking the small incremental steps on the path to improvement that may still be possible for us.

Amidst such demoralization, Gita wisdom offers consolation and inspiration with the insight that it is never too late because we are eternal. We are at our core indestructible souls who continue to exist even after the destruction of our bodies. With this spiritual worldview, we understand that we will always have opportunities to improve – if not in this lifetime, then in a future lifetime. Such understanding causes hope eternal to spring in our heart. Being animated by this hope, we can resist the temptation to quit.

When we keep trying determinedly, we are often pleasantly surprised to discover that we are able to do many of the things that we had thought were beyond us. Undoubtedly, certain achievements depend on certain material conditions; if those conditions are changed irrevocably, then those achievements may become impossible. A sports player who grows too old to play can’t become a champion in that sport.

Thankfully however, this irrevocability applies only to material achievements, not spiritual achievements. The summit of all spiritual achievements is to connect lovingly with Krishna, our all-attractive Lord whose parts we are eternally, and to rejoice forever in that connection. The opportunity to develop that spiritual connection always stays with us, no matter how many material things are taken away from us.

Thus, the spirit of the statement that we are never too late applies most realistically to our spiritual growth. The Bhagavad-gita explains that the soul never ages. Being eternal, it exists beyond time. And realizing ourselves to be souls opens the door to a fulfillment that exists beyond time, a fulfillment that is never too late to pursue and achieve. Learning to live as souls by practicing yoga, especially bhakti-yoga, raises our vision beyond bodily pleasures. Such pleasures become too late to enjoy when our body ages and loses its capacity to enjoy. Even when the body has that capacity, those pleasures remain at best fleeting and unfulfilling.

When we internalize Gita wisdom, we realize that life has much more to offer us than what we had been taught to believe by our prevailing materialistic culture. Life is meant for redirecting our love from the world to the source of the world, the all-attractive supreme, Krishna. When we learn to purify our heart and center it on him, we find ourselves becoming that which is our hearts’ deepest calling.

Ultimately, life’s greatest achievement is not in getting or doing – it is in becoming. Or more precisely, it is a becoming by which realize our being. As souls, we are, by our very nature, blissful beings. Only because we misidentify with our physical bodies and become attached to worldly objects do we become oblivious to our innate blissfulness. We become aware of our essential identity and the concomitant joyfulness by practicing bhakti-yoga. And as bhakti-yoga, the path of eternal spiritual love, is the perennial calling of the deepest layer of the human heart, it is not dependent on anything material, not even age.

So, yes, it is never too late for us to be what we were meant to be – spiritually realized individuals contributing harmoniously to the all-attractive whole and therein relishing sublime, supreme fulfillment.
